It's been called many things – the compliance officer full-employment act, among them – but the financial reform bill is finally here. Not since the Great Depression will we see so many new agencies and offices created, new regulations written, existing regulations amended, and examination standards changed.
There are many big questions that go along with this big new law: How will this affect my bank? When will new rules be coming? Should we prepare now or should we wait? Will this affect different banks – by size, regulator, product line, etc. – in differing ways? When will the various provisions become effective?
In this webinar, we'll seek to answer these big questions, and get a start on many of the smaller ones. We'll present an overview of the legislation, focusing on its effects on banks, large and small.
Covered Topics:- The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection – the new king of compliance regulators
- Transfers of regulations and regulators – more than just the elimination of the OTS
- Permanent increases of deposit insurance
- New authority over insurance, securities, and derivatives activities
- Mandated changes to Regulations B, D, W, Z, CC, RESPA, HMDA, FCRA, appraisal rules, and others
- The Financial Stability Oversight Council – what is this and what can/will it do?
- Many new disclosures, and safe harbors
- “Abusive” products and services – the coming standard that will set the tone for virtually everything you do
- Dramatic changes to mortgage lending that will impact your operations and product offerings
- New preemption standards
We'll also provide ample time for questions and answers.
Who Should Attend? This legislation is so wide-ranging, anyone in your bank could benefit from learning about this game-changing set of new laws and regulations. But we'll pay particular attention to the legal, compliance, and operational impacts of what is coming.

| About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts: |
Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.
The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form a training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!
And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.
Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions. |
